Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 large yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium bell pepper (red or green), diced
  • 1 cup rich tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup sweet raisins
  • 1/2 cup pitted green olives, sliced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions, bell peppers, and garlic until softened.
  2. Increase heat slightly and add ground beef; cook until browned (5-7 minutes), breaking it apart with a wooden spoon.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper; blend well.
  4. Add raisins and olives; mix to combine.
  5. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 15-20 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Serve hot over rice or in tacos; garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.
