  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 1 cup carrots, grated or diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 sheets puff pastry (store-bought)
  • 1 cup beef stock (low-sodium preferred)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg + 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and cook until translucent. Stir in grated carrots and cook until slightly softened.
  2. Add ground beef to the pan, breaking it apart as it cooks until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Pour in beef stock and Worcestershire sauce; simmer for about 15 minutes until thickened. Stir in frozen peas and dried herbs.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Roll out one sheet of puff pastry onto the baking sheet and spoon the cooled filling into the center. Cover with another pastry sheet.
  6. Cut slits into the top for steam release, then brush with egg wash for a glossy finish.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown.
