  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup Dr Pepper
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef into uniform bite-sized pieces. Chop onions and mince garlic.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together Dr Pepper, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and minced garlic.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the beef pieces until browned on all sides (about 3 minutes).
  4. Transfer seared steak and chopped onions to a crockpot. Pour the sauce mixture over everything and stir gently.
  5. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until tender.
  6. About 30 minutes before serving, mix cornstarch with water and stir into the pot to thicken the sauce.
