  • 1 lb beef flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain
  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp cold water
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste

Instructions

  1. Slice the flank steak into thin strips against the grain.
  2. Chop broccoli into bite-sized florets and mince garlic.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger paste, cornstarch mixture, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
  4. Add sliced beef to the marinade and let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
  5. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat; add broccoli and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until bright green but still crisp.
  6. Push the broccoli to one side of the pan; add marinated beef strips and cook until browned (about 5-7 minutes).
  7. Pour in remaining marinade over the beef and broccoli, stirring continuously until thickened (about 1-2 minutes).
  8. Serve hot over jasmine rice or noodles.
