  • 2 lbs sweet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  3. Layer half of the sweet potatoes in the baking dish; pour half of the creamy mixture over them and sprinkle with half of the cheddar cheese.
  4. Repeat layering with remaining sweet potatoes, creamy mixture, and top with more cheddar cheese.
  5. Mix panko with melted butter and sprinkle over the top layer.
  6. Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
