  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 cup spinach or mushrooms (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a pie dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté chopped onions in olive oil until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Stir in salt, pepper, thyme, and smoked paprika.
  4. Mix in shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  5. Roll out puff pastry into the pie dish. Pour meat mixture inside and cover with another layer of pastry. Seal edges by crimping.
  6. Brush the top with beaten egg and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
