  • 1 lb beef chuck or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and black pepper until smooth.
  2. Slice the beef thinly against the grain into strips about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Add the sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to overnight).
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add oil if needed. Stir-fry the marinated beef for about 5-7 minutes until browned and caramelized.
  5. Stir in chopped green onions and sesame seeds just before serving.
