  • 1 lb beef flank steak, sliced against the grain
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry)
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef flank steak against the grain into thin strips.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil to create the marinade. Toss beef in half of the marinade and let rest.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Stir-fry broccoli for about 3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Remove from skillet.
  4. In the same skillet, add remaining marinade and marinated beef. Cook until browned and cooked through (5-7 minutes).
  5. Return broccoli to skillet. Add the cornstarch slurry and cook for an additional minute until sauce thickens.
  6. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
