  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge in flour, shaking off excess.
  3. In a bowl, whisk eggs. Dip each floured chicken breast into the egg wash.
  4. Combine breadcrumbs and Parmesan in another bowl. Coat each chicken breast thoroughly.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Spread half the marinara sauce in a baking dish, place seared chicken on top, cover with remaining sauce, and sprinkle mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
