Description

  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat and let cool slightly before adding to the mashed bananas.
  4. Mix in the sugar and add eggs; stir until combined.
  5. In another bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder together.
  6. Gradually blend dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts if desired.
  8. Pour batter into the prepared dish and spread evenly.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before cutting into squares.
