- 1 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions
- Soak the dried pinto beans overnight in water.

- Sauté the onions and bell pepper in the bacon grease until softened.

- Drain the beans and add them along with barbecue sauce, brown sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Pour in enough water to cover by an inch. Bring to a boil, then simmer on low for about two hours until tender.
