  • 3 cups tart apples, diced (like Granny Smith)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 46 tbsp ice water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Rinse cranberries and dice apples into bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, combine cranberries, apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly; add ice water gradually until dough forms.
  4. Roll out half the dough into a pie dish, fill with fruit mixture, then cover with remaining dough sliced for steam.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
