Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chuck (80% lean)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 8 oz fresh cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chuck, breadcrumbs, half of the chopped onion, egg, and seasonings. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Form patties and sear until browned on both sides (about 4-5 minutes per side). Remove from pan and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add remaining onion and sliced mushrooms. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce; scrape up browned bits from the pan. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Gradually stir in heavy cream and return patties to the skillet. Let them simmer for about 10 minutes until heated through.
  6. Serve topped with gravy and garnish with fresh parsley.
