  • 2 medium-sized onions
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Peel the onions and cut about an inch from the top, keeping the root intact.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together eggs and two tablespoons of water to create an egg wash.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dip each onion first in flour, then in the egg wash, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray both sides of each onion with cooking spray and place them in the air fryer basket.
  6. Cook for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and crispy; shake halfway through for even cooking.
